Terms of Use
By accessing or using ResumeMaker.Online, you agree to these Terms of Use.
1. Who we are and where these Terms apply
The Service is operated by aiCarousels AB, Org. No. 559500-7005, Stora Varvsgatan 17B, 211 75 Malmö, Sweden. These Terms apply whether the Service is accessed through resumemaker.online or another domain or subdomain that we operate, including cvbuilder.online, generateresume.ai, and generateresume.com. ResumeMaker.Online is the canonical public domain. The other listed domains redirect to or provide access to the same Service and do not identify separate operators.
If you are a consumer, you retain all mandatory rights available under the law that applies to you. These Terms do not limit those rights.
2. Eligibility
The Service is not directed to children under 16. You must be at least 16 and have the legal capacity required in your country to create an account or make a purchase. If you are not legally able to enter into a contract on your own, a parent or legal guardian must act for you where permitted by law.
3. What the Service provides
You can build and edit a CV or resume without payment. A paid subscription is required to export or download a finished PDF and to use paid features. The available features, limits, price, billing period, and any promotional conditions are shown before purchase.
You remain responsible for the accuracy, suitability, and lawful use of your application materials. The Service does not act as an employer, recruiter, employment agency, lawyer, or human-resources adviser and cannot guarantee interviews, employment, or other outcomes.
4. Prices, currency, and taxes
- The subscription price and billing period that apply to you are displayed at checkout before you place the order.
- Checkout is processed in US dollars. Any amount shown in another currency is an informational estimate based on a recent exchange rate. Your bank or card provider may use a different rate or charge fees.
- The total price payable, including applicable VAT or other taxes, is displayed before the payment control where required by law.
- A promotional price applies only for the period and under the conditions shown with the offer. The checkout summary identifies the amount that will renew after the promotion.
5. Accounts, payments, and security
You are responsible for providing accurate account and billing information and for keeping your login credentials secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without permission. Accounts and subscriptions are administered using Outseta, and card payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your complete card number.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service unlawfully, infringe another person’s rights, introduce malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, bypass access or usage controls, extract personal data, overload or disrupt the Service, or reproduce substantial portions of the Service. Search-engine indexing consistent with our published robots instructions, and automated access that we expressly authorize, are permitted.
7. User content and intellectual property
The Service, its software, designs, templates, and site content are owned by us or licensed to us. As between you and aiCarousels AB, you retain the rights you hold in the content you submit. You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content only as necessary to operate and secure the Service, provide the features you request, and comply with law. You are responsible for having the rights or permission needed to submit content, photographs, job materials, or information relating to another person.
8. AI-assisted features
- AI features may assist with writing, reviewing, importing, scoring, tailoring, translation, interview preparation, audio, and image generation. The feature identifies what information is needed for the request.
- AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, unsuitable, or similar to output provided to others. Review and verify it before relying on or publishing it.
- Do not use AI output to misrepresent qualifications, experience, identity, or a photograph as authentic when it is not. You remain responsible for the final material and its use.
- AI features are optional. The editor can be used without submitting content to an AI provider, although particular AI-assisted functions will then be unavailable.
9. Independence and third-party names
aiCarousels AB operates the Service independently. References to third-party products or services identify integrations, compatibility, or sources and do not imply affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement. Third-party names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
10. Subscription renewal and cancellation
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month at the price shown in the checkout summary until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time through Account → Billing. Cancellation stops the next renewal and paid access normally continues until the end of the period already paid for.
- Deleting locally stored resumes or signing out does not by itself cancel a subscription. Use the billing controls or contact support if you cannot access them.
- If we increase the renewal price or make a materially adverse change to a continuing subscription, we will give reasonable advance notice and explain how to cancel before the change takes effect where required by law.
11. Voluntary refunds
Except for a statutory withdrawal right or another mandatory remedy described below, subscription payments are not automatically refundable once a billing period has started. We may nevertheless approve a refund where appropriate after reviewing the circumstances. This voluntary policy does not reduce any legal right to a refund, price reduction, repeat performance, or termination.
12. EU and EEA right of withdrawal
If you are an EU or EEA consumer, you normally have 14 days from entering into the subscription contract to withdraw without giving a reason. You can exercise this right using the online withdrawal function made available with the Service or by sending us an unambiguous statement through the contact method below. Include the email address used for the purchase and enough information for us to identify the contract. We will promptly acknowledge an online withdrawal request in a durable form.
If you expressly ask us to begin a service during the withdrawal period and then withdraw, the law may permit a proportionate charge for the service supplied before withdrawal. A different rule may apply to digital content supplied immediately: where the law permits, the right may end only after you have given prior express consent to immediate supply, acknowledged the resulting loss of the right, and received the required confirmation. The checkout flow, not these Terms alone, records any request, consent, or acknowledgement. Mandatory local rules remain applicable.
13. Service changes, suspension, and termination
We may maintain, improve, replace, or discontinue features. We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance, non-payment, misuse, or a material breach of these Terms. Where reasonably possible, we will explain the reason and provide an opportunity to correct the issue. For materially adverse changes to a continuing paid service, we will provide notice and any termination or refund right required by law.
14. Availability, conformity, and liability
We provide the Service with reasonable care and aim to keep it available and functioning as described. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, that every feature will suit every purpose, or that locally stored data will survive loss of a device, browser reset, or deletion by the user. Keep your own copy of important application materials.
Nothing in these Terms limits statutory rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited, including applicable rights concerning the conformity of digital services. To the extent permitted by law, neither party is responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss. We do not exclude liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Complaints and dispute resolution
Please contact us first so that we can try to resolve a complaint. If a consumer dispute cannot be resolved, eligible Swedish consumers may refer it to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN). Consumers in another country may have access to a competent local alternative-dispute-resolution body. The former EU Online Dispute Resolution platform is no longer operating.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Swedish law. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections available under the law of your country of residence, and you may use the courts available to you under applicable consumer law. In other cases, disputes are subject to the courts of Sweden.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, law, security, or our business. The date above identifies the current version. If a change materially affects an existing subscription, we will provide reasonable advance notice and explain any right to cancel. Changes do not apply retroactively unless required by law or agreed with you.

Local browser storage
Resume documents and many workspace materials are stored in databases on your device by default, including resume, job-tracker, headshot, LinkedIn, and interview-preparation data. This content is not transmitted to us merely because it is stored in your browser. It leaves the device when you deliberately use a feature that needs server or provider processing, such as AI assistance, transcription, account synchronization, support, or PDF export. Local content remains until you delete it, clear the relevant browser storage, reset the browser, or uninstall the extension. We cannot restore local content that has not been synchronized or backed up.
Browser Extension
ResumeMaker.Online Companion processes resume information selected by the user, including contact details, location, work experience, education, skills, and other resume content, solely to prefill supported empty fields in application forms when the user explicitly requests it.
When a user saves a job, the extension processes the currently displayed job title, company, location, description, posting date, source platform, and URL. It also processes application-form labels and attributes locally to identify supported fields. The extension never submits application forms and does not fill passwords, payment information, file uploads, or existing non-empty fields.
Saved jobs, synchronized resume profiles, the selected resume, and extension preferences are stored locally using Chrome storage. Data is exchanged with the ResumeMaker.Online webpage only as necessary to provide the saved-job tracker and resume-autofill functionality. The extension does not sell user data, use it for advertising, determine creditworthiness, or monitor unrelated browsing.
Locally stored extension data remains until the user deletes it, clears the extension’s storage, or uninstalls the extension.
ResumeMaker.Online Companion’s use of information received through Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
AI processing and voluntary data sharing
We use OpenAI APIs for text generation, review, import, translation, job tailoring, interview, transcription, and speech features, and Google Gemini APIs for image-generation features such as headshots and LinkedIn banners. When you invoke one of these features, the input required for that request and related technical information are transmitted to the relevant provider. Do not submit information that is unnecessary for the result.
OpenAI data-sharing notice: we participate in OpenAI’s voluntary API data-sharing programme. Depending on our account settings and the OpenAI-powered feature used, API inputs and outputs may be retained and used by OpenAI to improve its models. This content is not necessarily anonymous and may contain the personal information that you choose to submit. OpenAI processes it under its applicable business terms, data controls, and privacy commitments. Do not use an OpenAI-powered feature with content you do not want included in that programme. You can use the editor without optional AI features.
Google processes image prompts, submitted images, and generated results under the terms applicable to the Gemini API service used by us. Provider retention and use can differ by service, account configuration, and legal requirement. We review these settings and update this notice when the production arrangement changes.
Other recipients and service providers
- Outseta processes account, authentication, subscription, and related customer information.
- Stripe processes payments, billing details, tax information, and fraud-prevention data.
- OpenAI processes the text, document context, audio, and outputs required by OpenAI-powered features, including the voluntary data sharing described above.
- Google Gemini processes images, prompts, and generated image results for image features.
- API2PDF processes the rendered resume content needed to create a PDF when you request an export.
- Cloudflare and our hosting providers process network, IP-address, security, delivery, and server-log information.
- Adzuna receives job-search terms and location filters when you use job-search results supplied through its service.
- Google Fonts may receive an IP address, browser information, and the requested font resource when externally hosted fonts load.
- Professional advisers, authorities, courts, or a purchaser of the business may receive information where reasonably necessary and permitted or required by law.
International transfers
Some providers operate in the United States or other countries outside the EU and EEA. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on an applicable adequacy decision, participation in an approved framework where valid for the recipient, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses with supplementary measures where appropriate, or another lawful transfer mechanism. Contact us if you want more information about the safeguard relevant to a particular transfer.
Sensitive information and information about others
Application materials can reveal health, disability, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religion, trade-union membership, sexual orientation, or other sensitive information. Avoid including sensitive information unless it is genuinely necessary and lawful for your purpose. Before entering information about a referee or another person, make sure you have a lawful reason and provide any notice or obtain any permission required from that person.
Retention
- Invoices and tax records are retained for seven years where required under Swedish law.
- Account and subscription information is retained while the account is active and afterwards for the period needed to complete closure, handle complaints, enforce agreements, or meet legal limitation and record-keeping requirements.
- Support communications are retained for as long as needed to resolve the request and document the outcome, and longer where relevant to a contract, dispute, or legal obligation.
- Security and usage-limit records are kept for the applicable security window and then removed or aggregated unless an incident, abuse investigation, or legal claim requires longer retention.
- Server-side AI usage records are designed to contain operational metadata rather than prompt or resume content and are retained for cost control, reliability, and security purposes.
- Provider-side retention is governed by the production service and settings described above. Content shared through OpenAI’s voluntary data-sharing programme may be retained for model-improvement purposes under OpenAI’s applicable terms.
- Content stored locally remains until you delete it, clear the relevant browser data, reset the browser, or uninstall the extension.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions and exceptions in applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability; object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing; and withdraw consent at any time. You may also ask for information about international-transfer safeguards. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Use the contact method below to exercise a right. We may need to verify your identity and will respond within the time required by law. Rights concerning information stored only on your device must normally be exercised using the deletion or storage controls on that device because we do not possess that local data. You may lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) or the supervisory authority where you live or work.
Automated decisions
Our AI tools generate assistance and suggestions, but ResumeMaker.Online does not use them to make solely automated decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Employers and recruitment platforms may make their own independent decisions under their own policies.
Security and policy changes
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal data, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this Privacy Policy when our processing, providers, or legal obligations change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice where a change materially affects you or where law requires it.
Cookie Notice
Cookies are small files stored by the browser. The Service also uses local storage, session storage, and browser databases. Some of these technologies remain entirely on your device; others support authentication, security, billing, or communication with a provider.
Storage used by the Service
| Technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Service and Outseta session or authentication storage | Sign-in, account security, subscription entitlement, and session continuity. | Session or the authentication period configured by the provider. |
resumeMakerDailyOfferEndsAt | Keeps a displayed limited-time offer consistent until it expires. | End of the local day. |
resumeMakerDailyOfferSeenAt | Records that the limited-time offer has already been displayed. | Up to one year. |
| Preference storage | Remembers language and interface choices, dismissed guidance, and requested feature state. | Until deleted in the interface or browser. |
| ResumeMaker.Online browser databases | Stores resumes, saved jobs, LinkedIn materials, headshot history, interview sessions, and related workspace data locally. | Until you delete the data, clear browser storage, reset the browser, or uninstall the extension. |
| Temporary session storage | Transfers information between a free tool and the editor when you request that handoff. | Normally until the browser tab or session ends or the handoff is consumed. |
Essential and optional storage
Storage required for sign-in, security, billing, and a feature you expressly request is used to provide that functionality. Interface preferences and locally saved workspace content support choices you make in the Service. Promotional, analytics, advertising, or other non-essential storage requires consent where applicable. You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it. Blocking or deleting essential storage may prevent sign-in, billing, saving, or other requested functions from working.
We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies on the main Service. If we add non-essential analytics or advertising technology, we will update this notice and the available preference controls before activating it where consent is required.
Third-party resources
Outseta and Stripe may set or read storage when you use account, billing, or checkout functions. Externally hosted resources such as Google Fonts may receive network information even when they do not set a cookie. Optional AI providers receive information only when an AI-powered feature makes a request. The Privacy Policy above explains these recipients and international transfers.
